What are braided Cables?
Braided cables are electrical or data transmission cables that have an additional layer of braided material—usually metal wires (like copper or tinned copper) or synthetic fibers (like nylon)—woven around the cable’s insulation.
Purpose of Braiding:
- Shielding: In electrical and signal cables, braiding acts as an electromagnetic interference (EMI) shield, protecting the signals from external noise and interference.
- Mechanical Protection: In power or appliance cables, braiding provides extra durability, preventing wear and damage from bending, abrasion, or sharp objects.
- Aesthetic and Flexibility: In consumer electronics (like charging cables), nylon braiding adds visual appeal, flexibility, and tangle-resistance.
